Liberty Baptist Church History
LBC Church Theme:
“…and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.” —2 Corinthians 3:17
It all began in 1979…
Under the corporation of laws of the State of Pennsylvania. The inception came as Pastor Alvin O. Berkley answered the call to preach the Gospel.
Upon examining some of the churches in the area, Pastor Berkley felt there was a need for a Bible-centered church where the Word of God would be preached, as well as lived, in the lives of its leaders. After waiting and hoping for God to send someone, he felt God’s call on his own life.
Then in September 2000…
Liberty Baptist Church moved to a new location at 601 Fourth Street, Braddock, PA. Since the move, the Church has continued to prosper numerically and spiritually. The Church has added a lift to make it wheelchair accessible. We have two church vans for people who need to be picked up for Sunday morning service and other events, like the church picnic or a fun trip to Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, PA. We have Bible classes for all ages. Bible preaching and teaching remains the focal point of the ministry. We are still considering land or property where we can build a new facility.
